“Biomarkers as an emerging growth area" is a cross disciplinary collaboration between patient/end users represented by Brandbase/SDU, ICT represented by InfinIT/DTU and biotech/pharma/clinic represented by Bioneer and Biopeople. The project focus is to create better opportunities for disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment by facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration on identification and use of biomarkers. Arranged by BrandBase/SDU, InfinIT/DTU, Bioneer, Biopeople/KU, The Danish Biomarker Network, Forsknings og InnovationsstyrelsenThe project was kicked off at a symposium in May 2016

The focus of the Kick off symposium was how to facilitate knowledge transfer, learning and collaboration between the key stakeholders; companies, researchers and end-users/patients spanning various disease areas and scientific disciplines within biotech /pharma and ICT.

At the symposium three interdisciplinary workshops investigated and defined needs, potential and barriers for developing and using biomarkers in Denmark using three different perspectives: The patient/end user, ICT and the biotech/pharma/clinic.
